The following are updates on our most recent cases:
April 12, 2019: Jury returns verdict in favor of plaintiffs’ claims regarding meal breaks. Presently, we are waiting for the Court to issue a decision on whether the paystubs comply with California law. Once the Court makes that decision, it will issue a judgment and the parties can file post-trial motions and then prepare their appeals. Do not expect any payment in the near future as this process will take months, and likely over two years. Please check here for updates.
May 31, 2019: Motion for Preliminary Approval of Class Action Settlement filed by Plaintiff.
The parties settled this case on a class wide basis, subject to Court approval. The hearing on this motion is set for July 8, 2019. Please check this page for further details on the Court’s decision on this motion. The settlement class is all current and former non-exempt delivery drivers who worked in California at any time during the period from September 12, 2013 to the date of preliminary approval. Assuming the Court grants approval, everyone in the class will be mailed a notice explaining the effects of the settlement.
